Enable effective dates in Master Data type

$

Hi all,

I have noticed a new feature in Master Data type Configuration :

It is possible to "Enable effective dates". Then, two attributes "Date from" and "Date to" are automatically created :

enable_effective_dates.jpg

I didn't find any documentation on the subject, and I was wondering if this feature is compatbible with Supply Planning Operator?

If somebody has any knowledge to share on this subject, it would be appreciated !

Thanks,

Pierre

Configuring Forecasting operator IBP 5, advanced feature missing in excel add-in

Hi,

I have configured the Forecasting Operator (IBFORECASTING) for my planning area. Request your guidance on the following points:

1. Where do I configure the alpha, beta, gamma values (in IBP 4.0, it was available in Forecasting parameters)

2. How do I enable the operator? When I login to the excel add-in , I do not find the forecasting operator in the control bar (or the other operators) I have configured. How do I run it through excel (its not available under advanced features either).

Thank you ,

Network Visualization No Longer Showing Network or Data

Hello,

I'm using the SAP3 standard model and populated it with the Muesli sample data.  As seen in the screenshots below, the Rec Safety Stock and TIP have values in the chart analytic, and the relevant master data elements are populated.

However, in the network visualization, it says there is no data.  How do I generate the network diagram?  Please also help me understand why Customer Group / Segment, Ship From ID, Component ID, and Source ID are null when they are populated in the master data.

Thanks for your help,

Will

Hello experts,

There are few copy operators scheduled in our application.

Can someone let us know how to check the status of these copy operator jobs from excel or UI?

Click on the "Status" button in "Advanced" option in excel only shows few records and I couldn't sort it by date also.

Hi,

We are working on a planning area which is a copy of SAP2. We have generated Consensus demand plan. We are able to populate Customer Sourcing Ratio for each time period in Prod-Loc-Cust planning view.

However we are unable to populate the dependent demand quantity at the DC which is a sourcing location for the customers. We ran the "Unconstrained Demand and Supply (No Shortage)" and tried to populate the values of dependent demand quantity. However we did not succeed. Not sure where we are going wrong. Please help.

deleting unused MDT combinations

$

Hi

While preparing a prototype scenario, I had used certain MDT combinations and used them for Planning. Out of these, few combinations were later found useless. As such I had deleted, all the KFs that I had uploaded for these combinations followed by the MDTs. But while creating "New View", I am still able to see these combinations which I had deleted.

While going through help doc, I found a certain Operator called "DELABDNCOMBOS".

Now, my questions are:

1) If I use this, will I be able to get rid of "only" the KF information related to these useless combinations whose MDTs I had deleted

2) Like Copy Or Group Operators, is there any parameters for this operator as well?

Calculations as Inputs to Supply Planning

$

Hi Gurus,

Key figures defined as 'Input for supply planning' that are marked as 'stored and calculated' are able to be calculated based on key figures within their calculation chains. This is very useful if you want to transform an input before feeding it into the supply planning eg days cover -> inventory target based on forecast demand. My understanding is that the one catch is that the predecessor key figures need to be at exactly the same planning level or it doesn't work and you have to do things like use copy operator to 'break the chain'.

In my particular case one of the upstream key figures contains a month offset via attribute transformation (ie different planning level eg perprodloc->perprodloc1) which stops the inputs being recognised by the supply engine.

Question, before embarking on time-consuming L code journey to do do the attribute transformation, anyone know if this will work. Ie will the supply engine recognise the inputs if some of the source is L Code?

Best regards

Aggregated constraint key figures eg MAXAGGPRODUCTION

$

Hi gurus,

Does anyone have experience of using these key figures? I've been trying to use MAXAGGPRODUCTION with S&OP Optimizer and got unexpected and unhelpful results. I'm not sure if it's a) my interpretation of their use b) the on-prem (3.0.2.3) version we're using c) my config which is a copy of from the SAP4 model.

What we'd like is a convenient method of constraining production at several levels of product aggregation based on different attributes similar to sub-family/ family. We can do this anyway by defining resources for each product family etc but this concept seems more elegant for our purpose. The fact that planning level PERPRODLOCSRCAGG contains PRDID as a route and consequently max production needs to be defined at product level also seems odd to me.

Anyone got any answers, experience, documentation?

Best regards

Andrew

Test Data export using IBP API

$

Hi all,

I want to test data export using IBP API (getDataExport API which uses a RESTful web service).

I have checked official documentation and SCN post.

Before doing anything in SAP ECC, I want to test this API with a simple interface. To do so, I used SoapUI, but I can’t get it to work :

Steps I have done so far:

  • In IBP:
    • I have assigned to my user a visibility filter for the planning area, with no filter rules defined.
    • I have a Key Figure “CONSENSUSDEMANDBASEQTY” defined @ PERPRODCUST (Keys are PERIODID, PRDID, CUSTID,

I am not sure which one is correct?

    • I have specified my IBP credentials in the request properties :

               request_properties.jpg

    • I have specified the request parameters :

               request_param.jpg

    • I submit this request with "POST" method, but I get the following error messages, according to the URL I use :
      1. "Error 404 - Not found"
      2. "Error 500 - Internal server error"

Can someone help me with this?

Do you know another simple method to test this API (outside ECC)?

Thanks,

Pierre

Rolling Forecast - Offset for Forecast consumption

$

Hi Guys,

I wanted to set up / configure a rolling forecast consumption concept. For example :

                                   February      March                                    April

Forecast                       200                 20                                        50

Shipped Qty                  50                  100                                       50

Rolling Forecast                       150(200-50 From FEB)                 70 (170-100)

New Forecast                                   170(150+20)                              120

And So on.

So as shown above its clear that 200-50 is done and the result of the difference between forecast and shipped Qty is made available in the next Month Period ID as rolling Forecast(150). Then the result of this can be Added to current month forecast to calculate the New forecast for the month. Now the Rolling Forecast for the month of March would be 70 and this should reflect in April as a carry forward.. then the logic continues...

Looking forward to customization and calculation logic ( at all levels) help.

Thanks

Optimizer runs but demand fulfillment rate is 0% , Inv Target fulfillment rate is 0%

Hi,

We are configuring the optimizer to generate the best fit solution.

TWO customers, ONE DC , TWO PLANTS, TWO products both assembled at one resource

We have uploaded the following data:

1. PMINLOTSIZE , PMAXLOTSIZE

2. TMINLOTSIZE, TMAXLOTSIZE

3. PRODUCTIONCOSTRATE, TRANSPORTATIONCOSTRATE

4. LEADTIMES FOR PRODUCTION, TRANSPORTATION

5. NONDELIVERYCOSTRATE

6. INVENTORYTARGET, INVENTORYTARGETVIOLATIONCOST, MAXINVENTORY

The heuristics is running correctly and generating the key figures for production as per the ratios defined.

However, the optimizer runs without errors but production is nil. Please refer to the log below:

InformationSCMPLAN9100Optimizer started
InformationSCMPLAN9101Optimizer finished
InformationSCMPLAN9102Optimizer found optimal solution
InformationSCMPLAN9120Optimizer solving time: 0.01 seconds

InformationSCMPLAN9149Solution information: inventory target fulfillment rate is 0% (not satisfied amount: 175500)

Thhe Optimizer does not give a feasible solution i.e. production quantities are 0 , have i missed out on any other input KF / setting? Request guidance in this regard.
